Teach something people can use on Monday

Products by Women works with practitioners — not keynote circuit speakers. Our sessions are built around skills our members can apply at work the following week, and we run two distinct pathways: paid expert-led workshops and community-contributed sessions.

Two pathways

One of these is paid. We will always tell you which.

Paid engagements and volunteer contributions are both valuable, but they are not the same thing. Choose the pathway that matches what you are offering, and if you are unsure, pick either and we will place you.

Paid pathway
Compensated

Expert-led workshop

A curated, ticketed or sponsored session you are engaged and paid to deliver. This is a professional engagement, and we treat it like one.

  • Flat honorarium per session, agreed in writing before you commit
  • Revenue share on ticketed workshops
  • Travel, accommodation, and meals covered for in-person sessions
  • Recording, slides, and recap you can reuse on your own channels
  • Speaker page in the Learning Hub with your bio and links
  • We never ask a paid expert to speak for exposure
  • No unpaid trial session — your first session is paid too

Consultants, senior operators, and tool experts with a defined curriculum.

Community pathway
Volunteer

Community-contributed session

A member sharing what they know with the community. This pathway is volunteer and is not compensated — we are upfront about that.

  • We handle promotion, registration, production, and recording
  • A permanent session page and written recap crediting you
  • Design support for your slides and handouts
  • Coaching on structure and delivery before you go live
  • A direct line to members who want to work with you
  • No fee, honorarium, or ticket share on this pathway

Members sharing hard-won lessons, career stories, and practical know-how.

Example formats

Formats that work in our community

These are the shapes our sessions usually take. Bring your own idea if it does not fit one of them — we will help you pick the format that carries it best.

Hands-on workshop

60-90 minutesVirtual or in person

Build-along session. Everyone leaves with something working: an agent, a prototype, a template, a first draft.

e.g. Build Your Own AI Agent — 20+ attendees left with a live agent and the templates.

Expert webinar

45-60 minutesVirtual

A focused talk on a career or industry question, with live Q&A built into the second half.

e.g. How to Land an AI Product Role in 2026, with Iris Guo (Google X, Microsoft, Scale AI).

Panel or roundtable

60 minutesVirtual or in person

Three or four practitioners on one theme, moderated by us. You contribute your angle, not a whole deck.

e.g. Hiring for AI roles: what actually gets candidates through the loop.

Career clinic

60-75 minutesVirtual, capped attendance

Small-group review format. You give live feedback on resumes, portfolios, or negotiation scripts.

e.g. Portfolio teardown for product designers moving into AI products.

Fireside or AMA

45 minutesVirtual

Conversational and unscripted. Best when your story is the value, and questions carry the session.

e.g. From IC to director: the decisions that actually moved the needle.

Learning series

3-4 sessionsVirtual, recurring

A multi-session deep dive that builds week over week, with homework members actually do.

e.g. A four-part series on shipping your first production AI feature.

The audience

Who you are teaching

  • Women in product, design, engineering, data, and marketing, mostly mid to senior level
  • Typical session size is 20 to 60 attendees; in-person sessions are deliberately kept small
  • Sessions run weekday evenings Eastern, or weekday mornings for international speakers
  • Virtual sessions run on Google Meet; in-person sessions run in NYC, San Francisco, and the Bay Area
  • Members join from across the US, Canada, and Europe, so timezone clarity matters

Reach: every session is promoted to 20,000+ members and 15,000+ newsletter readers, with a written recap published to the community Substack afterwards.

What lands

What members expect from you

One skill, taught properly

A single thing they can apply the next week beats a survey of ten things.

Something to take away

A template, checklist, starter repo, or worksheet. Hands-on sessions perform best.

Honest, not polished

What went wrong and what you would do differently lands better than a highlight reel.

Room for questions

We hold at least the final 15 minutes for live Q&A, and the thread keeps going after.

Product pitches are not part of a session. If your work is genuinely useful to the room, a two-minute mention at the end is fine.

Apply to speak

Tell us what you want to teach

We plan sessions a season ahead, so the strongest applications are specific about the skill and the outcome. There is no pitch deck required — just a clear idea.

1

You send the topic, audience, and three outcomes.

2

We review against the calendar and the learning tracks.

3

If it is a fit, we send an invite with the pathway and the fee, in writing.

4

We co-design the session with you, then promote and produce it.

Already a member? Mention it in the experience field — we prioritise practitioners our community already trusts.

Expert-led workshops are paid. Community-contributed sessions are volunteer. Choose either if you are open to both.

What will attendees be able to do afterwards? Be concrete — this is what we review most closely.

We reply within two weeks. If your topic is not a fit now, we keep your application on file for future seasons.
